  • Ryan Adams

by Pillais on 6/2/25Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

Ryan Adams is a great singer performer. I never tire of his performance. The venue is perfect! Could have done without an intermission which we were told was required by Paramount.

  • Dinner and Show!

by LA on 5/30/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing Ryan and I would definitely see him again. Very brave man to perform at a high level with all his physical obstacles. He sounded great, whether he was singing or entertaining the audience

  • Slo-Mo Trainwreck

by J. Jack Flash on 5/20/25Orpheum Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 2 out of 5

R Adams walked on stage at 8:15pm & started talking at the crowd w/out a mic...sorta odd...I was about 10 rows from the stage & could make out about 50% of what he said...but the people in the balcony I'm sure had no idea. Then he started playing the Heartbreaker record (but w/out a backing band?) Guess this was gonna be an "unplugged"acoustic guitar 90's style Mtv kinda nite...although there was no mention of this in the summary advertising the show...whatever...Dude has a strange chemistry w/audiences...pugnacious almost...tries to be funny...but in a misanthrope kinda way & this creates tension causing knuckleheads in the audience to give it back by yelling stupid things at the stage themselves. A lot of people left halfway thru...not something to proud about as a performer. I thought about bailing as well, but would stick around & still allow the transformative power of the art...The SONGS to work their magic...but Ryan A isn't an easy artist to be a fan of. I know he has some health issue & sorry to hear about his bros recent demise. Perhaps Adams developing songwriting skills were how he coped w/his dysfunctional upbringing? It's a strange & rare talent for sure...just wish I didn't have to deal w/his personality disorder to enjoy the fruits of his labors. Favorite song of the nite was the few bars he played of "Answering Bell"...but then of course he got flustered by something trival & refused to finish the piece despite many people cheering him on to do so! He did a nice cover of a Doors song towards the show's end around 11:45pm, but I was too exhausted to even appreciate it by that point...a 3 hour concert w/maybe 90 mins of material was what people were saying on the way out the door. On my way back to my car I wondered how successful he could have been if dude could just get out of his own way? Born w/a beautiful singing voice for sure...but he doesn't have the charisma of someone like Dave Grohl saying jokes between songs in a live setting...even watching vintage video clips of Elvis' awkward banter seems smooth by comparison. For some strange reason, R Adams has contempt for the people in the audience spending their hard earned money to see him perform & thus making him rich? But I gave Ryan a second star for the one profound thing I remember he said before the final song...responding to a fans negative comment...the one tirade that made sense...he replied something to the effect of "how can you say that when Jack Kerouac's America is right outside these doors in the City of Light?...where all sorts of misfit characters & interesting freaks of all shapes & sizes are walking around making Los Angeles one of the most unique & beautiful & fascinating cities in the history of the world!"It made the 75 year old guy in front of me (who Ryan said at one point in the show, he "wished was his dad cause he looked so cool") clap w/much appreciation.

  • Intimate night to rock out with your feelings.

by Javier on 5/19/25Orpheum Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Ryan Adam’s creates a very intimate setting as he plays the Heartbreaker album and other curated songs from his catalog. As always, Ryan is funny and sets the stage for a great night.

  • A Good night for Music

by LaLa on 5/19/25Orpheum Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

A Lot of people came in after his first 3 songs which I feel was rude and affected his mood. Also, as much as the stories Ryan told were interesting, I feel he talked way too much which made the evening a lot longer than it needed to be. That being said the theater is gorgeous and the staff amazing. Ryan's music is a 10 out of 10! He is very gifted as a songwriter and musician.

  • Extremely Funny and Terribly Beautiful

by Mandalyn on 5/18/25Orpheum Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Ryan Adams is the funniest person I have ever seen live, including comedians. He is very charming. Sobriety suits him well. He talked a lot between songs but he was both poignant and hilarious. My best friend (not a huge fan although he likes his music well enough) and I laughed the whole time and we both had a total blast. The music was phenomenal. We couldn't have been happier. I have been a fan since I was a teenager and am forty this year. So I am so grateful that I had this incredible experience.

  • This might be one of the greatest concerts!

by Terry on 5/18/25Orpheum Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This might be one of the greatest concerts I've attended. Adams put on an amazing show; comedic, music which included fan favorites, shared personal anecdotes, and his quirkiness. Played for almost four hours!

  • Interesting experience

by Nita on 5/18/25Orpheum Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

I love Ryan Adams. He’s one of my favorite musician/songwriters. My husband is a die hard rocker and I really wanted to turn him on to how awesome Ryan can rock. Unfortunately, this show turned out to be solo acoustic with LOTS of talking. I was hoping it was going to be a full band show much like the I’d seen him perform a few years ago at The Greek. While I was disappointed it wasn’t, we still enjoyed him when he was performing and enjoyed his stories. The cool part of it was it kinda felt like you were just hanging out with him in his leaving room listening to him blurt out his thoughts and play a song here and there. However, some of the audience banter went on way too long and there were times I just wanted him to quit stalling and play some music. After all, that’s why we were there. There is a Ryan that is so deep, so beautiful and so very very talented. There is also a Ryan who can be intolerable, annoying, tortured and selfish. We got a little of both.

  • Perfection

by Natalie on 5/17/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Mind Blown from almost 4 hours of pitch perfection taking my soul back and forward . . I basked in the glow amazing and persistent stage presence . I’m at a loss for words . Thank you for an amazing night that I will never forget. Can’t wait to see him again . The Magnolia is a classy venue

  • Not at all enjoyable

    by Debbie H on 5/16/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 2 out of 5

The music was OK. He is obviously talented. Would have been better off buying some music. The angry rants about how he has been wronged and with the crowd were not what we came to hear. This combined with a dimly lit stage with a couple of lamps rounded out the vibe. Very disappointing. We would not go see him again.
