I'm a huge Moody Blues fan, my first time seeing John Lodge doing a concert without the MB band. I was impressed with the Brown County music center. Nice venue, good seats, pretty good sound quality. Lots of people helping with parking, finding seats, etc. Will return to Brown county venue in the future if there is another band I want to see.
It was a great experience to hear the Moody Blues' Days Of Future Passed album in its entirety after all these years. It's hard to believe that album was released around the end of 1967 and is as fresh today as it was then when I first heard it. John Lodge still has his phenomenal vocal chops and his perfect high falsetto harmonies. My initial concerns over his ability to perform when he first came on stage were quickly laid to rest. John apparently had a debilitating stroke last year at 80 years old but has recovered substantially to the point he played and sang near perfectly for around 80 minutes with a short intermission between sets. It was good to see Jon Davison (previously of the Chris Squire reformed Yes) singing a few of the classic Justin Hayward vocals on Tuesday Afternoon and Knight's In White Satin. John Lodge's voice was clear, strong and yes, he can still hit those high notes with seemingly little effort. His bass guitar playing was still as good as ever too. John surrounded himself with a phenomenal group of musicians too with Alan Hewitt on keys, Duffy King on lead guitar and vocals, Billy Ashbaugh on drums and Jason Charboneau on cello. I highly recommend this show to anyone considering it and wanting to rehear this album and other MB classics live!
John Lodge's vocals and energy were great. His band was spot-on and the setlist captured everything you would hope to hear. The small venue was perfect. Everyone in the crowd seemed to really enjoy themselves.
At 81 and having suffered a stroke a year ago John Lodge could barely walk out on stage but once he settled in he delivered one of the best concert performances of my life. He weaved stories of the British Invasion and the MB early days into his legendary MB songs. I feel it a privilege to be able to have seen him in such an intimate setting. If you miss this opportunity it is your own fault.
My wife and I have been Moody Blues fans for a very long time and have had the good fortune to see them perform several times over the years. It was great to see John Lodge performing some of our favorite songs from this iconic rock group.
The Moody Blues was my favorite band college in the late 60s and early 70s! And I still love their music! Lots of great memories over the years. I was so excited to see John Lodge - and it was not a disappointment. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! John is still amazing - and is still a great singer and performer! I have been to many concerts over my lifetime since I am 75, and I would categorize this concert as one of my most memorable. If they were in the area tomorrow, I would buy another ticket and go see it again!
I knew Moody Blues’ John Lodge would have a kick ass backup band and was not disappointed. Excited that former Moody Blue, Alan Hewitt was on keyboards and pleasantly surprised that current Yes lead singer, Jon Davison made an appearance. A very, very enjoyable evening.
Great to see John, doing well after his recent stroke, as well Moody Blues members Alan Hewitt and Billy Ashbaugh. The talented Duffy King's vocals were great but the cellist Jason Charboneau was stellar! It was a nice touch to see and hear Yes! guest Jon Davison.
I had a front row seat right in front of John Lodge. I loved every minute of the show.
