  • Not what I expected

by Detroit 1949 on 9/6/24Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

I didn’t think their presentation was that good. Most of the songs they sang were not familiar to the audience. Many attendees agreed with that. I’m a senior who is familiar with that era, the people I asked agreed. They needed a better format.

  • Shalamar Concert

by Gee Money on 9/2/24Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Over all Shalamar gave a great performance, I would definitely pay to see Howard Hewitt and Shalamar again. The only issue I had was with the opening performance, I’m not sure what or who selects local talent but we can do better than what had to listen too.

  • Living Legends

by Living Legends on 9/1/24Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Jeffrey Daniels and Howard Hewitt are living legends... it was a honor to be able to witness their greatness. The concert was so much fun singing and dancing to old-school music that is timeless and eternal. I'm most enjoyed seeing Jeffrey Daniels During the dances that he talks Michael Jackson. The only critique that I have is that I wish that Howard Hewett would a song a couple of his solo hits.

  • Shalamar rocked Detroit

by jacques on 9/1/24Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

The band was top notch and Howard, Carolyn and Jeffrey were astounding. The crowd really loved Shalamar on this their 40th Anniversary tour and for good reason. In addition, the audio was terrific. Motor City Casino has an awesome sound system and Shalamar's FOH engineer nailed the mix. PS: The opening band was not very good and their audio was so quiet and poorly mixed. I was really worried, but Shalamar came through.

  • Shalamar

by Shorty29 on 8/27/24The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - HammondRating: 4 out of 5

The comedian got too much time, he should have spent less time on stage and at least One Way could have done their song cutie pie. One Way actually should have been headliner instead of Shalamar in my opinion because they got off to slow start

  • Should not have been the headliner

by Lolo on 8/21/24The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - HammondRating: 2 out of 5

They sang the first 4 songs that was not familiar. People started walking out because they were so disappointed.

They lost a lot of the audience singing songs folks didnt know, they took too long getting to their hits, and too much unnecessary banter. Also seemed like they were trying to pass the lady off as Jody Whatley (that's what folks were saying), ditch the sunglasses and the hat covering her face and let folks see/know from jump. Once the hits Started I enjoyed the show.
