Las Vegas Aces History

The Las Vegas Aces are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The franchise was founded in 1997 as the Utah Starzz, and after a period in San Antonio as the Silver Stars, and later the Stars, the team moved to Las Vegas in 2018. After reaching the Finals in 2020, the Aces won the WNBA title in 2022 and 2023, becoming the league’s first repeat champions in over two decades. Coached by 2023 Hall of Fame inductee Becky Hammon, the Aces set a WNBA regular season-win record of 34-6 in 2023. During the 2024 season, six-time All-Star A'ja Wilson won her third regular season MVP, set the WNBA’s all-time, single-season scoring average record and became the first WNBA player to score 1,000 points in a single season.

Las Vegas Aces at Michelob ULTRA Arena

Michelob ULTRA Arena, home of the Las Vegas Aces, is located in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the famous Las Vegas Strip. The 12,000-seat facility opened in 1999 and was used as a multipurpose event space before the Aces took up permanent residency in 2018. During the 2023 season, the Las Vegas Aces led the WNBA in attendance, averaging 9,551 fans. In 2024, the Aces became the first WNBA team to sell out every regular season home game.
