About

SUGAR RAY IN CONCERT:

Sugar Ray virtually dominated late-'90s airwaves with breezy, SoCal-filtered pop earworms like "Fly" and "Every Morning." Fifteen years later they're still going as strong as ever, hitting the road to headline the 2014 Under The Sun Tour with fellow '90s favorites Smashmouth and Blues Traveler. As far as frontmen go, they don't make 'em more charismatic than Mark McGrath — fans lucky enough to catch the band live on their last tour were floored by his energy and charisma, setting expectations sky high for their upcoming shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Sugar Ray formed in Newport Beach in 1986, initially playing the unique brand of funk metal heard on their 1995 debut LP Lemonade and Brownies. While the album garnered them attention in alternative circles, it wasn't until they adopted a poppier sound for 1997's Floored that they really cracked things wide open, topping charts in the US and Canada with the ubiquitous decade smash "Fly." 1999 follow-up album 14:49 was an even bigger success, going triple platinum with infectious singles like "Every Morning" and "Someday." Throughout the '00s, the band continued to find success, releasing three albums and touring extensively. In 2014, they hit the road for the Under the Sun Tour, joining bands like Smashmouth and Uncle Kracker for a seriously satisfying dose of '90s nostalgia.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"... Sugar Ray by far made the show! Upbeat, got the crowd moving! Seemed like he was having a blast singing!"

"... they seriously kicked ass on stage! The whole concert was just purely entertaining and listening to their '90s hits was awesome!"

"The venue was intimate and Sugar Ray made us want to dance all night. Mark McGrath is an awesome performer and interacts well with the audience. The new music was terrific and fresh and the oldies still sound great."

  • Every Morning

by Harlow on 4/26/25Rating: 5 out of 5

First time I was able to hear "Every Morning"live since I was a kid! The show was at EPCOT earlier this month and we really enjoyed it. We expected the crowd to be older, but everyone was really into it and made the environment one big party!

  • Back to the 90's with Tonic and Sugar Ray.

Fun concert, venue sucks. Bands were great, but a ballroom with a bunch of chairs that have no elevation is weird and awkward to watch a concert.

  • AMAAAAAZING!!!

Sugar ray was AMAZING to see in concert. I will go see them everytime they're in my area at a venue I like. One of the best concerts I have ever been to, mark McGrath was fantastic and one of the best showman I have experienced. Please come back to the tulalip casino amphitheater next year!!!! Even with the thunder storm that rolled through, it was spectacular!

  • The sound was excellent

Although we were a bunch of older people amongst a few younger ones, it was a good time. The only problem we ran into is some of the older people wanted some of the younger people and older people to sit down, and the security, which was contracted by the casino, said that we bought our chair. So we could dance in front of our chair. There was no dancing allowed in the aisles or anywhere else.Where you could not interfere with people's view

Sugar Ray was great, uplifting and involved the crowd(which is a must for me) Better than Ezra was better than I thought and brought back great memories Tonic was why I was here. Bucket list band for me and truly amazing live show!!

  • A lot of standing

by Nate on 8/5/24Musikfest - Wind Creek Steel Stage Patio - BethlehemRating: 4 out of 5

General admission is a lot of standing, pretty rough after a while, especially when 2/3 of the seats up front are empty. Tonic was great, Better than Ezra ok, didn’t stay for Sugar Ray, not fans.

  • One of the best!

It was definitely an experience to see Sugar Ray live in the Summer. It was amazing, they really know how to put on a show. Age hasn’t changed a thing for this band!

  • It was good

I was hoping to hear a little more of their earlier stuff before the pop charts fame but all in all they performed a great show. The band sounded tight n the crowd that came of age in the 90s seemed to really get into it. Part of the show did sound like a commercial for the Casino and I guess that's understandable. They are a very good group of guys who seem to still enjoy performing . I'm speaking of the ones who have been in the band for about 40yrs. The pop is not really my genre but I do enjoy some of Sugar Rays popular songs. I'll give them an 7 out of 10.
