  • Think twice

by Jay on 9/4/24Saratoga Race Course - Saratoga SpringsRating: 1 out of 5

You pay for a table and they allow anyone in regardless of having a ticket. Why pay? I don't mind partying, but way too many people getting high in such a small area. A family with 2 small children left their table due to the pot smoke being unbearable. We had tables at the rail at 1863 twice this meet and the same thing happened. You're paying and anyone can come in. No thanks. Saratoga is not what it used to be.

  • Worst spot on the grounds!

by lsr33 on 8/21/24Saratoga Race Course - Saratoga SpringsRating: 1 out of 5

These tables are without any shade and are so far from the grand stand that it ruins the experience! Not recommended!

  • No sign of the Paddock from the Paddock picnic table

by Blocked on 8/6/24Saratoga Race Course - Saratoga SpringsRating: 1 out of 5

We were sad and then angry that a Fox sports stage was directly in the way of our view of the Paddock from our 3 tables (not cheap)! The stage was gigantic enough to block the entire view of the Paddock area, which was the only reason we paid for the tables. Ripped off and pissed.

  • TV Media Center needs to Move out of Paddock

by JP on 8/4/24Saratoga Race Course - Saratoga SpringsRating: 2 out of 5

we have stayed at the paddock area for many years, but this year Saratoga Race Track moved the TV Media station in front of the paddock, yikes! prime seats for family and friends usally. the media personel dont even face the paddock to look at the horses. I like the TV Media Tent but it needs to be moved back to where it was. prime viewing taken away, i dont know what the reason is?

  • Shady Picnic Area, Lively

by ChristineS on 7/14/24Saratoga Race Course - Saratoga SpringsRating: 5 out of 5

Easy to locate the reserved picnic table and receive our wristbands for re-entry. Many picnic tables (seat 6) were in the shade. TV and odds viewing boards were available. The Fox Sports newscasters allowed us to take pictures as they were adjacent to the picnic area doing their broadcasting - fun! We brought in coolers with beverages and munchies. A staff person was very personable and helpful and provided us with a complimentary checkered tablecloth. It was a great Opening Day experience!

  • Swarmed all day by yellow jackets

    by Ayyyyy42 on 8/29/23Rating: 2 out of 5

Can’t say I thought the picnic reservation was worth it. I knew we were in trouble on the way in when we passed by people who said they were in the picnic paddock but were being attacked by wasps and had to leave. We got to our table and the yellow jackets begun their terrorist campaign. One member of our party was stung in the stomach within our first 10 minutes of being there. We probably sat at the table for about 5 minutes the whole day. You’re better off paying for general admission and setting up anywhere else. Our table was G4 next to a tree but no shade to be had. Tables are crammed close to one another. Not worth it.

  • Terrific Venue!

by Eddie on 8/19/23Rating: 4 out of 5

A great way to set up a meeting point for a group get together at the track. Conveniently located to watch the horses and jockeys. Closed circuit TVs to watch each race. A bit of a walk to the track and restrooms, but not TOO far. A very cost effective way to spend the day at the track. Bering your own food, beverages and coolers!

  • Very impressed

by Aggie on 8/9/23Rating: 5 out of 5

First time ever attending any of the NY thoroughbred race tracks. Saratoga was everything that I had hoped and expected it would be. NYRA really puts on a classy top notch entertainment venue. On Whitney day, I was one of the 43,000 plus that attended the races. Great to see that so many people were enjoying what Saratoga racing offers. The picnic area was a fantastic option to spend a day at the races. The only things that were a huge turnoff was the exorbitant and ridiculous price gouging for Saratoga appeal from the gift shop and the food pricing! I mean, my friends spent $62 for 2 Hot dogs from the Fourstar Dave section in the grandstand area. That’s borderline criminal. Other than the pricing, Saratoga is a wonderful place to attend the races.
