About

With a legendary career spanning more than four decades, KANSAS has firmly established itself as one of America's iconic classic rock bands. This "garage band" from Topeka released their debut album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for Don Kirshner, and have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide.

Composing a catalogue that includes fifteen studio albums and five live albums, KANSAS has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show), and two one million-selling gold singles, 'Carry On Wayward Son' and 'Dust in the Wind.' KANSAS appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the '70's and '80's and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. 'Carry On Wayward Son' continues to be one of the top five most played songs on classic rock radio, and 'Dust In the Wind' has been played on the radio more than three million times!

2016 marked the release of "The Prelude Implicit," KANSAS's fifteenth studio album. The wide-ranging progressive rock album was released on InsideOut Music, and marked the band's first studio album release in 16 years.

In 2020 KANSAS followed up "The Prelude Implicit" with the album "The Absence of Presence."

The band, which is currently comprised of original guitarist Richard Williams, keyboardist/vocalist Tom Brislin, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist Joe Deninzon, guitarist Zak Rizvi, bassist/vocalist Dan McGowan, and original drummer Phil Ehart. Eric Holmquist performs on drums while Phil Ehart continues to recover from a major heart attack. KANSAS continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world.

Along with constant touring, KANSAS continues to remain a fixture of Classic Rock radio and popular culture. The band continues to reach a whole new audience through their unmistakable presence in various commercials, live sports broadcasts, popular video games Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Grand Theft Auto; the band's documentary film "KANSAS: Miracles Out of Nowhere," and a guest appearance on The CW's television show 'Walker.' The band's songs have also been included in various television shows such as 'Supernatural,' 'Reacher,' 'All Elite Wrestling,' 'South Park,' 'The Office,' and 'The Simpsons;' as well as blockbuster films including 'Old School,' 'The Suicide Squad,' 'Anchorman,' 'Pitch Perfect,' and 'Happy Gilmore.'

  • Disappointed

by Leigh on 6/18/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 2 out of 5

I was disappointed because the Thunderstorm and lightening caused the venue to move everyone out of their seats., in the middle of the 38 Special Set. It continued to storm and lightening for a long time after, with no stop in sight. We got tired of waiting in the rain for them to call us back into our seats, so we left. It stormed all the way home. I don't know if they ever called people back in, but we missed half of 38 special and all of Kansas. Kansas is who I went to see. We did see all of the first band - Jefferson Airplane, and they were good. Does anyone know if they actually let what people were left back in ? Did Kansas ever end up playing. At any rate I was very disappointed and it will be a long time before I buy any tickets for an outdoor event again.

  • I say RAIN OUT!

by Tim on 6/17/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 3 out of 5

Did not see Kansas and only 3 songs of 38 Special before it started raining heavily. Producers or whomever had control of calling it a rain out didn’t call it. 85% left because of rain!

  • Rained halfway through the show.

by Stephanie S on 6/17/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 3 out of 5

Horrendous thunderstorms half way through 38 special. We had to leave the bowl. 2 hours later, we were allowed back in. Kansas played less than 20 minutes. Not sure what we could do about it because of scheduling, but it really sucked to wait 2 hours and get 2 songs more.

  • What concert????? 11 songs????

by Ev11 on 6/17/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 1 out of 5

We hard maybe 9 songs from Jefferson Starship, then watched 15 mins or more of set change to 38 Special. They sang 3 songs and cancelled due to lightning. As we all tried to take shelter (haha …. soaking wet from the torrential rain) we had to hear from their dude at the merch sales that they cancelled 38 Special. We waited for over an hour and never heard from ANYONE about Kansas. We finally left because we had a 2 hour drive home in that torrential downpour which lasted 3 hours. So WE DID NOT enjoy KANSAS or 38 SPECIAL!

  • Wet Friday

by Drenched on 6/17/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 3 out of 5

It rained we got soaked and had to leave, not sure they ever got the show started back up, but I'm sure it would have been great if we got to see them play.

  • Concert

by ANGIE on 6/17/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 3 out of 5

It was a good concert from what we got to see, it started pouring down rain, thunder and lightning they stopped concert which was very smart just wish it was communicated that they was going to try again to finish if rain let up some.Alot of people left like we did.

  • Kansas 38 special and Jefferson Starship

by Tina on 6/17/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 2 out of 5

It was horrible. Jefferson Starship played first and then 38 Special came out and played 2 1/2 songs before it started pouring down raining. This was approximately about 730. We got a message at 9:45 that at 10:20. Kansas was gonna come back on stage. so basically three hours later they’re gonna come out on stage and perform for 30 minutes because of a noise ordinance in the neighborhood and they had to be done by 11. The show should’ve been rescheduled instead of basically an hour and 15 minutes worth of music for what ticket prices cost these days. And instead of rescheduling it, it was their choice to continue and screw people out of what they paid for.

  • Disappointed b/c I didn’t get to see them

by Robbie Lee on 6/16/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 1 out of 5

I was really looking forward to see Kansas in concert since I have enjoyed their music since I was a teenager. But the rain came, the 38 Special’s concert was cut short and after an hour or more of hard rain, we left and headed home. According to what I saw on the update for the BankPlus Amphitheater, They were supposed to start playing at 10:20, about 2 1/2 hours after 38 Special’s set was cut short. So, sadly, we did not get to see them.

  • Rained Out

by Tommy on 6/16/25BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove - SouthavenRating: 3 out of 5

The venue was nice, Jefferson Starship was good, 38 Special was good for the five songs we heard before the rain, lightening & thunder. Never heard Kansas. :-( Would love a partial refund!

Didn't get to see half of show. Called off preformed performance before Kansas got to preform
