About

With a legendary career spanning more than four decades, KANSAS has firmly established itself as one of America's iconic classic rock bands. This "garage band" from Topeka released their debut album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for Don Kirshner, and have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide.

Composing a catalogue that includes fifteen studio albums and five live albums, KANSAS has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show), and two one million-selling gold singles, 'Carry On Wayward Son' and 'Dust in the Wind.' KANSAS appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the '70's and '80's and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. 'Carry On Wayward Son' continues to be one of the top five most played songs on classic rock radio, and 'Dust In the Wind' has been played on the radio more than three million times!

2016 marked the release of "The Prelude Implicit," KANSAS's fifteenth studio album. The wide-ranging progressive rock album was released on InsideOut Music, and marked the band's first studio album release in 16 years.

In 2020 KANSAS followed up "The Prelude Implicit" with the album "The Absence of Presence."

The band, which is currently comprised of original guitarist Richard Williams, keyboardist/vocalist Tom Brislin, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist Joe Deninzon, guitarist Zak Rizvi, bassist/vocalist Dan McGowan, and original drummer Phil Ehart. Eric Holmquist performs on drums while Phil Ehart continues to recover from a major heart attack. KANSAS continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world.

Along with constant touring, KANSAS continues to remain a fixture of Classic Rock radio and popular culture. The band continues to reach a whole new audience through their unmistakable presence in various commercials, live sports broadcasts, popular video games Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Grand Theft Auto; the band's documentary film "KANSAS: Miracles Out of Nowhere," and a guest appearance on The CW's television show 'Walker.' The band's songs have also been included in various television shows such as 'Supernatural,' 'Reacher,' 'All Elite Wrestling,' 'South Park,' 'The Office,' and 'The Simpsons;' as well as blockbuster films including 'Old School,' 'The Suicide Squad,' 'Anchorman,' 'Pitch Perfect,' and 'Happy Gilmore.'

  • Kansas live

by Michael on 2/12/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

If you have never heard of Kansas and you were taken to see them, I think that you would have enjoyed the show. If you have heard of them and a couple of their songs, you would probably have said that they were pretty good and worth the time to go. But if you are a fan of Kansas, I think that you would agree with me that they kicked big time ass. The vocals were excellent, and the bands planning was just great! If you get the chance to see them, you really owe it to yourself to go.

  • Great music, as always, but VERY short

by barefooter on 2/9/25Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 4 out of 5

Kansas has always been great in concert, and this concert was no different. Great musicians, even with only one original member. By far the shortest concert I've ever been to; lasted less than 90 minutes, including time spent introducing everyone and talking about their history, etc. Played most of their classics, but just far too short and without any "non-hit"material.

  • Kansas

Don’t miss this show, excellent musicians and one original member who can still rock! You’ll be totally amazed at the talent.

  • Carry On

by McRedhead on 2/5/25Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

The band provided a powerful experience despite having only 1 of the original members, guitarist Williams. I originally saw the band at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in like 1978. I had not seen them since and the opportunity to see them in Tampa coincided with a mid winter getaway from Pennsylvania. What a great venue at the Hard Rock Casino. Their ability to jam rock and roll with the talents was powerful and thrilling and even my skeptical wife was impressed. The violinist was totally off the hook.

  • Kansas nails it again.

Always great seeing and meeting Kansas. Their music is timeless.

  • Great show....Kansas DOES NOT disappoint

by G-Man on 2/5/25Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

Kansas puts on a great show. Nothing flashy, no fire spouts or wild strobes, but their sound mix, music level and the musicians are TOP LEVEL. Also, as I say, "they do not get off the ranch"with their music and instrument play. Kansas still plays and sounds like the Kansas we know and have loved for 50+ years They played most of their greatest hits, engaged with and entertained the crowd and we had a great time. I would highly recommend going to see Kansas if you are a classic rock-n-roll fan or a true rock music fan. They will NOT disappoint.

Our group had a great time at Seminole Hard Rock Kansas performance. The band is still very talented. Enjoyed reliving our late 70’s era!!! Would definitely go back again!!!

Show was fantastic! Sound was perfect, mix was excellent. Not ear splitting and very, very well blended. All vocals very clear and up front. Well done and a real pleasure! Great venue!

  • Enjoyable

Kansas put on a really good show and sounded great. Seating on the side/floor was ok but hard to see sometimes and had people talking a lot behind us but enjoyed it.
