About

The music of half alive breathes, evolves, grows, and changes alongside the lives of the Long Beach trio--Josh Taylor [vocals], Brett Kramer [drums], and J Tyler Johnson [bass]. half alive officially came to life on the 2017 3 EP, which sparked a palpable buzz on the strength of "The Fall" and "Aawake At Night". Over the course of the next year, they crafted what became their massive breakout single "still feel." which has been RIAA certified Gold, rocketed into the Top 10 at Alt Radio and has over 285 million worldwide streams to date.

Since then, the band has released two full-length albums, were named YouTube's Artist on the Rise, have had multiple Top 20 Alt Radio singles, performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! And The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, secured a spot in Vevo's DSCVR class and showcased their incredibly creative artistry at NPR's Tiny Desk with the outlet calling them "a band with a clear vision and gift for design, not just in the earworms they write, but in their entire presentation."

With help from incredible collaborators like choreographers and creative partners Jordan Johnson and Aidan Carberry, otherwise known as JA Collective, half alive have completed three headlining tours across the United States, EU and UK, supported Twenty One Pilots on a massive arena tour and have graced major festival stages like Outside Lands, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. Celebrated for their cutting-edge choreography and visual presentations both on and off the stage, the band has quickly become the definition of a must-be-seen to be believed act.

I had so much fun, got to listen to songs I’d never heard before, loved hearing my favorites! The dance choreography was amazing to watch! I’d really recommend going to see them in person!

  • The Dancers

by Gorp on 4/25/25The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

Love the dancers, they're like friends to me. Josh Taylor is cool too i guess. Everyone should see this

  • Everything you can ask for in a concert. The GOAT.

by Marco C on 4/23/25The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Persona Album — Mix of singing, head banging, acoustic, artistic chereo, and dancing. Half•Alive knows how to put up a concert, making you ascend to another realm and feel revitalized afterwards

  • Truly the "Trifecta Plus"!

  • Creative, Engaging, So Fun

by Ani on 4/22/25The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

Both a concert and a visual show. The mascots and choreo were both cool, and of course that's on top of the great music. I'm glad half alive played all their top hits, regardless of album. Really enjoyed it and so did my plus one (who wasn't a fan until the concert).

  • LOVED them all!

by Sammy Jo on 4/22/25The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

All three bands were fantastic! Had an amazing time.

  • Too Much Bass

by Jordan on 4/22/25The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 2 out of 5

The dealbreaker for me was the overwhelming bass they used. It was so much that you could feel the vibrations in your body. I imagine some people enjoy that sensation, but I am not one of those people. I think it’s a really uncomfortable feeling, so I had to leave early. I was really disappointed. For anyone else that’s bothered by heavy bass like that, save your money. It would have been a great show otherwise. The dancers were awesome!

  • New Favorite Concert

by Emma on 4/22/25The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Half Alive and my expectations were exceeded! Show was visually stunning and music was stellar of course. The two openers, Meroh and The Walters were also very fun! Will hands down see another concert give the chance.

  • Not just a show, an art experience

by Mel on 4/15/25Brooklyn Paramount - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

This was the most interesting and engaging concert I’ve been to in a while. This was my first time seeing half alive and I would see them over and over if I could afford to. They put on a wonderful show, filled with dancing, great lighting, just amazing. I also love the Brooklyn paramount as a venue, quick service, beautiful architecture, it’s just great.

  • Never been better

by Samantha on 4/15/25Brooklyn Paramount - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Half Alive twice and both times it was the most amazing show! The music, vocals and dancing are just so amazing! I have been to a lot of concerts and they are definitely one of the best ever. My husband and I will always attend a half alive show! Thank you Half Alive for all you do!

  • epic performance!

by kitsuneroach on 4/13/25The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

literally will never get enough of half•alive! the walters were amazing too though i don’t know much of their catalogue! nobody puts on a show like h•a. the soft medley of beige, creature and thank you literally made me cry and the whole thing was so hype

  • mehro was fabulous

by Bajesusphilly on 4/12/25The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

I actually came to see mehro. I am a fan of him after watching Exploding video first. Then the Lady Parts and Mannequins video was mindblowing artistry. Mehro was awesome to see live. Then to top things off Mehro stuck around after his set and signed merch and took photos with fans. He is a great guy all around.

  • Absolute Rippers

by Silly T on 4/11/25The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

They absolutely ripped so hard. 10/10 would see again. Loved the Muppets at the begging. The Walters were sick too!

  • 10/10 would recommend

by Took on 4/11/25The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Half•Alive is probably one of the most underrated bands out there today. The music is infectious and you find that despite forgetting the lyrics (a personal flaw), you can’t stop moving as the music resonates around you. The band veers from the monotonous road many popular artists take to please the algorithm with heartless sounds and they go all in to create something beautiful that still resonates with thousands without profane junk or political ideology. Musically, the chords are quick, complex, stunningly combined, and pleasant for someone who understands the colors of music theory. You can be in their environment and just- feel alive. They were charming on stage and absolutely made the most of the venue. I can see these boys climbing the charts, but I am also perfectly content with them as a secret goldmine of good vibes. 10/10 would absolutely recommend and encourage others to go back with me!
