About

It says all you need to know about Buddy Guy that the music genre that he has come to embody, the Chicago Blues, could never hope to contain him. In the more than 55 years since the Louisiana moved to Chicago and embarked on one of the most influential careers a guitarist could ever hope for (just ask Eric Clapton), Guy is still pushing the envelope of his artistry. But what is remarkable about this Rock N' Roll Hall of Famer is that he isn't sacrificing an iota of his relevancy while doing so. Guy proves it not just in concerts that are as high energy now as they were when he was heralding a rock guitar revolution in the 1960's, but also on the charts. His 2010 musical autobiography-of-sorts Living Proof was the blues legend's highest carting record to date, while his 2013 double disk follow up Rhythm and Blues was #1 on the Blues chart and showed 77-year-old to be every bit the firecracker as guest stars Kid Rock and Arrowsmith. If his last few decades have proven anything, it's that a ticket to a Buddy Guy concert isn't simply a tour through blues history, but an opportunity to see a genre's foremost practitioner still at the top of his game, with as much to say as ever has.

Buddy Guyis a true blue legend! Was a great show! Location is not, Staff front desk not very welcoming or friendly Casino feels like people have lost their souls. Had one drink and felt drunk so strange.Has it usually takes 3.

The only thing I could think for improvement is signs to where the shows are held. This was our first time here and we wandered around and finally found someone who knew where to line up.

  • Great music, way too short

by Zero the Hero on 9/11/24The Event at Graton Resort & Casino - Rohnert ParkRating: 2 out of 5

Buddy Guy surrounded himself with spectacular musicians who put on a great show for an hour and 15 minutes. No encore. Some of that time was spent listening to him tell stories. Also extremely disappointed with the website where I got my tickets. It assigned me the seats and I had no way to change them. $250 later (two seats) I had seats in second to last row. Fortunately, after the concert started, management allowed us to move up to any available seat. In general, venue is too large for the acts it will attract. While the stage is raised and there are giant monitors on each side of the stage, the seating is flat and not pitched in any manner making visibility limited.

Buddy was entertaining, funny and such a legend. You should see him while you can.

  • So good but too short

by DWSanRamon on 9/10/24The Event at Graton Resort & Casino - Rohnert ParkRating: 4 out of 5

He’s so good you just want it to last forever. Given his age and maybe stamina, it’s wonderful to hear what you can hear however it’s too short and there aren’t enough songs covered

  • Once in a life time.
