For English metalcore act Asking Alexandria, years of extensive touring paid off in 2013 when their third album From Death to Destiny debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Tapped by Korn as a supporting act on their 2013 tour, Asking Alexandria quickly earned a reputation for their amped up live show, resulting in a series of headlining concerts with Sevendust, All That Remains, and others. The band's touring success in 2013 continued an already-successful run on the road – in 2012, fans clamored for tickets for their sold-out club dates in North America and the U.K., which drew praise for their mosh pit-inducing energy. Asking Alexandria's roots go back to 2003, when guitarist Ben Bruce helmed the group's first incarnation in Dubai. In 2008, Bruce returned home to England and formed an entirely new group, while retaining the Asking Alexandria name. After signing with indie label Sumerian, the band released its debut album Stand Up and Scream in 2009, and followed it up in 2011 with Reckless & Relentless, which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. Asking Alexandria's current lineup includes Bruce, vocalist Danny Worsnop, guitarist Cameron Liddell, bassist Sam Bettley, and drummer James Casells.

I had fairly reasonable expectations, I have seen the bands before in other venues and hadn't been to the Ritz Ybor for many years. I would mention that I have been to literally thousands of shows mostly in the Tampa area over the last 35 years or so both big and small and all types of genres and venues, other than country ;). Anyway, I will start by saying the venue left a lot to be desired with a mostly flat general admission area other than a small vip area on the very sides. There was no room as people were even outside the super packed GA in the lobby area. But I have been to many venues such as a recent Poppy show at the HOB Orlando which also has a packed in GA area that is fairly level but the most disappointing thing about this show was the sounds was never fully dialed in for either of the main 2 bands FATN or AA. Usually, in my experience, despite the sound checks it takes a song or 2 maybe even 3 to get the sound dialed in per band but it didn't even sound like much effort was made to adjust even though it was clear it was less than ideal to say the least. One other thing and this is not specific to these bands but just a pet peeve of mine in general, bands that use pre-recorded sound mixed with the live performance should only do so to enhance the live performance with interludes or other effects, etc. that can not easily be played live otherwise in a live show limit the pre-recorded parts as it seems cheap to have pre-recorded vocals, drums or other music that the band members could and should be playing live. This definitely applied to this show heavily and therefore detracted from the overall performance. I should also say it was the last show if the tour so maybe I expected more energy for being done but maybe they were tired and wanted to just get it over with. It was also on a Wednesday night which isn't great but for the most part I thought the crowd stayed with it. Anyway, I will see these bands again hopefully in a different venue as there are many in the area that are much better and hope to have better to report then.
Was in a suite had excellent service and was a good view of the show would highly recommend.
Hampton Beach Casino is one of the best venue for shows because you get so much out of the experience. Even get to meet the band , if they come to say hi that is. Royal Lynn, From Ashes to New and Asking Alexandria were all very incredible.
From Ashes to new were great A.A. was a bit lame. Not much of a stage presence.
Every band was great that night , good job all. Thank you for a much needed night away from my own thoughts
The Asking Alexandria/From Ashes to New concert at Riverworks in Buffalo was outstanding! Great energy and I liked that both bands threw in some of their earlier work for us longtime fans. AskingAlexandria’s lighting was a bit much and I could often not see the stage as they were a bit overpowering. I am a big fan of the smaller venue All in all a great show otherwise.
This was the first time for me to see any of these bands, I loved From ashes to new!!!!, asking Alexandria was an awesome experience to finish the night.
Great venue, loved the bands. Had an excellent time!
The other bands were cool, but AA was so amazing! I love them so much! Hopefully they come back to Buffalo soon!
