Seattle Kraken History
The Seattle Kraken played their inaugural season during the NHL's 2021-2022 season as the 32nd franchise. They are the first professional hockey team to play in Seattle since the Seattle Metropolitans, who were the first American hockey team to win the Stanley Cup in 1917.
The Kraken earned their first win in franchise history on October 14, 2021, a 4-3 victory against the Predators in Nashville. The win came in their second game played during the 2021-22 season. The Kraken completed their first-ever season in the NHL with a 27-49-6 record and 60 points. In the 2023 NHL Playoffs, the Kraken eliminated the Colorado Avalanche, winning 2-1 in Game 7 to become the first expansion team to beat the reigning Stanley Cup champs in their playoff debut.

The 2024 Discover NHL Winter Classic saw the Seattle Kraken defeat reigning Stanley Cup-champion Vegas Golden Knights 3-0.

We really did enjoy this season, and think overall Climate Pledge is a wonderful venue. We learned sec 109, row P seats 21 and 22 are not good to have with a lap infant. The value of food could be a little better, and pricing of beer. Enjoy the cleanliness as well.
The music, lights and crowd were so much fun and entertaining. The Kraken game was awesome! So proud of our team. They won again!
Great fun for my 7-year old grandson visiting from London. Joined Mariners kid’s club. Saw two home runs. And went home happy.
The kraken have a great venue to watch the sport. Professional hockey players display a lot of skills going from one end to the other in the blink of an eye.
My family and I attended the Seattle vs Dallas game on Saturday night (3/29/25). It was our first NHL game so we didn't know what to expect. WE WERE BLOWN AWAY!! What a show! What a game! We are already planning another trip to watch another Kraken game. The energy and all around vibe was spectacular! 10/10 experience for my family and I. The staff working the game were all kind, smiling, helpful and just the best! I highly recommend the Kraken experience.
Great night of hockey in downtown Seattle. Great/beautiful venue (must see), good food and an awesome win by Dallas.
I had a great time! The building is upgraded since the last time I was there. I always love the game regardless of the outcome. My only issue was the tech involved in getting in. As a visitor from out of state, I was unaware of the clear bag policy, so that caused entrance issues. Then I had issues with the new techy way to scan your phone ticket. The staff at the door was on auto pilot, so they were confused when I didn’t know what to do. They didnt speak to me at all, they just pointed at the machine to scan the phone ticket. Everyone else in the arena was friendly and helpful, so it all ended up well. I will go again next time I’m in town, but I will be sure to get my IT degree first.
I’m Canadian but cheering for the Kraken. Disappointing performance. They looked tired and not terribly motivated. ‘Get crackin’ Kraken!!’
Great atmosphere for a KRAKEN Victory !!!! Amazing fan base, excellent turn out for our HOME Team. Entertainment is non-stop FUN.
My friend and I had an absolute blast, already have our next game planned. I was never much of a sports person but I saw my first Hockey game on the East Coast and now I have found the sport I LOVE to watch.
