New York Islanders History
The New York Islanders, also known as the Isles, celebrated 50 years as a franchise during the 2022-2023 season. The New York Islanders took the ice for the first time in 1972 and forged one of sports' greatest dynasties less than a decade after the franchise's inception. The New York Islanders are one of only two NHL teams to win four straight Stanley Cup Championships, and their legendary run of 19 straight playoff series victories remains unmatched in professional sports.
GM Bill Torrey's brilliant drafting during the 1970s stocked the Islanders roster with some of the game's greatest players. Defenseman Denis Potvin, right wing Mike Bossy, center Bryan Trottier, goaltender Billy Smith, and left wing Clark Gillies powered the dynasty and went on to the Hall of Fame. Coach Al Arbour joined Torrey and his five players in the Hall of Fame after finishing his career fourth all-time in wins. New York Islanders legends Butch Goring, Bob Nystrom, and John Tonelli are also forever enshrined on the rafters at UBS Arena.

Couldn't open tickets had to go for help waste of time missed part of the game dribble
You had a great experience overall. My only annoyance was when receiving the tickets via mobile, it's annoying to actually get the code. They make you transfer it to Google wallet. Which is just an extra step of annoyance. It was so much easier when you can just print out the ticket.
Went to a concert at Barkley Center last month, and am reminded how great it is to be at UBS. Let's support our Isles.
Great place to visit, good food, nice people, space not over crowded,
We went for the Hurricanes/Islanders playoff game on Saturday and had a great time. Even though we were rooting for the other team, everyone working, including inside the pro shop was extremely friendly and helpful. The venue was very nice and pretty easy to get to. The Cross Island sucks, but that is not the fault of the team or the venue. Parking was straightforward and free shuttle was provided. Walking was also nice under a covered walkway, about 10 minutes. Entry into the venue was very fast even though I had a bag, although we did get there extra early to watch the teams warmup. Overall the experience was positive, and I would like to go back, but it's location poses a huge inconvenience for me
Best fans, best team and the best rink in the NHL. A+
UBS is a fantastic venue for the Islanders or any show. The concourses are spacious but there’s off the beaten path bars to have a quieter moment or you can hang out outdoors as well in the Park or the Heineken Terrace, which is unique amongst pro arenas. The food is also top notch (try the Ooh Lah Lah Steak - it’s worth it). Pricing is more reasonable than some other nearby venues (looking at you MSG) and it’s just better all around. The only detraction from the experience is the poor MTA management of trains after games. Getting home from Game 3 of 2024 playoffs was miserable for the minority of us West bound travelers. The MTA could not move enough eastbound people fast enough and I watched train after train go by because west bound customers were stuck in the crowd. There should be a dedicated path for people going to NYC and or Jamaica to catch connecting trains. As a kid growing up going to the Coli (which was a dump the day it opened but it was OUR dump), UBS is the shining dream that I never thought could come true. Mssrs Ledecky and Malkin have created something way beyond the sum of its parts here. It’s just great going to UBS.
Its great to watch the final home game with a win.
The prices for the concessions are out of hand $8 for water ? Come on
thankful we were close to the shuttle busses with the rain, but we're able to board one quickly , after was a bit more of a wait but considering the amount of people it moved pretty quickly. the have was great they won ! did was his with the exception of a hot chocolate threat was terrible- like hot water with a faint taste of chocolate
Had a great time with my daughter at our first game at UBS Arena. Drove all the way from Melbourne, FL to see our favorite team, the New York Islanders in action. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the new arena is beautiful. Definitely will be back!!!!!!!!
Amazing game ! Great comeback win for the Isles. Look forward to attending another game soon
Most of the newer venues I’ve been to are much nicer than the more “legacy” venues. This in particular was no different. I think “we’re” finally getting it right as it pertains to stadium expectations.. Overall, a good venue. Would definitely go back.
Saturday 3/2 was my second Islanders game that I attended at UBS. The overall atmosphere was greats and I love the new arena and I am returning for both the 3/23 & 3/24 games!!
Nice and modern arena, interesting and funny show, comfortable seats, easy connection from Manhattan and rail station.
The Parking situation is not good but the Arena is awesome!
UBS Arena is an awesome place! Was a great day! Will return soon
I have attended many games at the new arena and regrettably, this is the first time I witnessed what can best be described as rowdy behavior and fowl language. Typically I sit in Section 320, 321 or 323, row 7 or 8. Getting excited when the home team takes the lead or scores a goal is perfectly understandable. The young men in the rows in front of me, however, got more than carried away. A pity. They not only polluted the air with their mouths they also stood up and blocked the view of those behind them while they did it. Oblivious, of course, to the inconvenience wrought on anyone else in the vicinity. There were many families and children present I might add. I've been to many sporting events over the corse of my seven decades and, hopefully will attend many more. I don't expect that type of behavior to completely disappear but if it can be curtailed going to a game would be even more fun.
I can’t believe how badly they lost!!!! The Penguins were great but we went to see the Islanders . 7-0 really?
