About

As the original legends of arena rock, few bands in existence put on a show quite like Journey. Anchored by singer Arnel Pineda's thrilling vocals and Neal Schon's unstoppable guitars, the band continues to show fans both old and new exactly how it's done as they tear through marathon sets of classics like "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Open Arms." Formed in 1973 in San Francisco from the ashes of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band has since gone through a number of lineup changes — only stalwart guitarist Neal Schon has been with every incarnation. Despite a rotating roster, the band has sold 52 million albums in the U.S., making them the eleventh best-selling band in American history. While the '70s and '80s provided them with the most commercial success, their current manifestation with Filipino singer Arnel Pineda has given them truly global breadth.

I was looking forward to this concert and the worst happened. As I was signing the song "Don't Stop Believin' the power goes out due to an electrical fire underneath the stage. I am glad no one got hurt. Yes, I was disappointed because I have never been to a Journey or a rock concert from the 80's up to now and I was so ready for the experience. Like they say, "it is what it is, and "things happen". In the meantime, I still have to experience a rock concert soon. Still love my Journey!!!

  • Everybody Wants a Thrill

by Kasparov on 1/3/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding show! Comfortable seating, sound volume not overwhelming, terrific video screens. Polite and helpful staff. Clean bathrooms with minimal lines. East access to drinks. Public transportation readily available. Uncomfortable being forced to walk through smoky casino, in order to get into the Venue!. Yuch!

  • Blast From The Past Seeing Journey Again

by Cindy on 1/2/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Being a teen in the late 70s, I attended concerts all the concerts I could. Saw all the good classic rock groups and more, including Journey, at the Palace, Oakland Coliseum, Cal Expo race track…anywhere they’d let us in. I have seen several of the classic rock band concerts at the Venue recently and Journey owned it. Their music brings the memories and magic and presents the same good times from nearly 40 years ago. Though the Venue is small, there is not a bad seat in the house!

  • Disappointed

by Angel on 1/1/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 2 out of 5

This is my first Journey concert and was super excited to see them….the acoustic sound inside The Venue was very disappointing, sounded so muffled not sure what happened but did enjoy listening on the songs I grew up with ❤️ I hardly heard the singing from Arnel and I know that wasn’t his true sound

  • Awesome

  • Fantastic, Energizing Concert!

by Barbie on 12/31/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Journey Concert was Excellent! Arnell Pineda, lead singer and group sang and performed a lot of their popular famous songs! Their concert was about two (2) hours straight of fantastic, energizing and professional performance! Arnell really gets the crowd going, singing and waving hands in the air together. Journey is One of the Best Concerts!

  • Journey

by KJS on 12/31/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 1 out of 5

Could have been a Cover band, NO show just played the Journey music. Other actual Cover bands and Tribute bands were better.

  • In my opinion, I think it could have been louder.

by Vince on 12/31/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 4 out of 5

I think if they would have played their old stuff more and louder the audience would have gone insane. Overall I love their music. A little pricey as I saw them in Reno, NV, at half or third of the price of Thunder Valley costs.

  • Not at all impressed.

by Rokendog on 12/31/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 1 out of 5

Overall was disappointed in their show. The lead singer left much to be appreciated. The vocals sounded muted and muffled, almost as if they were trying to cover up his accent. Made it very hard to understand what he was singing. Stage presence just not engaging. So much of Journey's appeal was in the commanding vocals of Steve Perry, and I'm sorry, but their lead singer was not commanding in any way.
