Buffalo Sabres History
The Sabres joined the NHL in the 1970 expansion, and just two years later embarked on a streak that saw them reach the playoffs in 12 of the next 13 seasons. Leading the way were "The French Connection" line of Hall of Fame center Gilbert Perreault, left-wing Rick Martin, and right-wing René Robert. The Quebec-born trio was together in Buffalo from 1972 through 1979. Aided by Craig Ramsay, the Sabres and their French Connection advanced to the 1975 Stanley Cup Final in their fifth season, though they fell in six games to the Philadelphia Flyers.
In the following 10 seasons, all of which resulted in playoff berths, the Sabres captured two division titles. Fueled by defenseman (and former U.S. Olympic star) Mike Ramsey, the Sabres made nine playoff appearances between the 1981–1982 and 1991–1992 seasons. Later, during goaltender Dominik Hasek's nine seasons, the Sabres continued to be a consistent playoff team. In 1999, they dispatched the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs to again reach the Stanley Cup Finals, where they fell to the Dallas Stars in six games.
In 2006 and 2007 the Sabres made it as far as the conference finals before succumbing to the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators, respectively. To date, the Sabres have been in the playoffs 29 times, winning six divisional championships and three conference titles.

If you like hockey and love either the USA or Canada you will enjoy the game. They are patriotic fans and when the national anthems of the USA and Canada were played it was is silence and respect. When I took off my cap I noticed there was not a head in the crowd that did not remove theirs. This includes seeing a dad snatch a hat off of his kid. These are legitimate, dedicated and patriotic people. Had I not attended this game I would have underestimated the people of Buffalo, NY. Venue was clean when we got there, SWAT teams on the ready for any issues, staff helpful, cops pointing you the right way, parking easy with Ticketmaster parking tickets. RAMP garage is way to go as you walk right into the venue.
Had a great time at the Sabres Flyers game. Fans around us were very friendly and welcoming.
The game involving the Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs at the Key Bank Center in Buffalo was entertaining. The food prices were unreasonably high. $57.82 US ($80 Cdn.) for two large pizza slices with small pieces of fried chicken and for two soft drinks, with a 15% tip that its hard to avoid even though it's self-serve, is borderline ridiculous.
We had an awesome time ! We got the tickets last minute, easy on ticketmaster Great view from the 300’s , all the amenities and cold beer steps away from our gate and friendly staff Awesome arena!
Great atmosphere, very impressive arena. Everyone very friendly and welcoming even though I was wearing my Toronto Maple Leafs jersey. My family and I had a great time.
Seats are way too close to each other. There’s minimal legroom and you’re crammed in between people.
Great atmosphere and perfect family event. We loved the food and the fans were electrifying.
Had a great time with my daughter even though the score was not quite what I wanted. Very safe environment. Will be back.👍👍
I took my goalie nephew for back to back games to have time together enjoying something we both love. What a wonderful time we had! Two great wins by The Sabres with an exceptionally awesome win with a shootout game the 1st night. We were both so pumped after that game we hoped the next night wouldn’t be a let down…….& it wasn’t!!! What a great trip for both of us. Good food & hotel experiences, met up with friends & made new fan friends, quality time together & awesome playing by our favorite team!!!! Go Sabres (possible future employer for my nephew - his dreams)!!!!!
